Expert Minesweeper: 30×16, 99 mines
The hardest classic size: 480 cells and 99 mines, about 21%. Records on Expert are the ones players compare most often, and here every board can be finished without a guess.
93% of the moves follow from one number and 7% need two numbers compared; in about one game in twenty the mine counter decides the end. On a narrow phone screen the board turns vertical so that the cells are bigger.
How to play Minesweeper
Mines are hidden under the cells of the board. The goal is to open every cell without a mine. Each number shows how many mines are in the eight cells around it, and from these numbers you can tell exactly where a mine is and where it is safe. In detail: rules and techniques with examples →
